Jamboree Hires Controller Amidst Expansion of Real Estate Portfolio and Corporate Operations

IRVINE, CA  – Jamboree Housing Corporation announced today that James H. Fox, Jr., has joined its corporate staff in the newly created position of Controller, according to Marcy Finamore, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this new role, Fox will give oversight to all finance, accounting and reporting activities to the governing board, finance and audit committees. He’ll lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise the accounting team.

A Certified Public Accountant, Fox brings to Jamboree more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience, including 11 years in financial management of multifamily assets. Prior to joining Jamboree, he was the chief financial officer with Clippinger Investment Properties in Laguna Niguel, CA, a real estate investment and management firm with interests in 17 commercial and multifamily assets. Fox was responsible for all aspects of accounting, finance, budgeting, payroll and insurance coverage.

“Jim joins Jamboree at a time when we have more new housing development and related construction and other activities in our pipeline than ever before in our history, as well as growing operations and an expanding employee base,” said Finamore. “This has resulted in an increasing workload for the finance department and it became apparent that additional professional resources were necessary to manage the growth. In response, we created the position of controller and he will report directly to me. I welcome Jim to our company.”

Before Clippinger, Fox was director of finance for John Burns Real Estate Consulting, Irvine, CA., one of the nation’s leading real estate consulting and market research firms. From 2002 to 2013, he advanced from controller to senior director of Finance for Irvine Company Apartment Communities, the multifamily subsidiary of the Irvine Company. Fox managed all aspects of financial planning and analysis, research and executive reporting for the $1 billion, 45,000-unit apartment division.

Fox began his finance career as a senior accountant with the CPA firm of Deloitte & Touche. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting from California State University, Long Beach.
