Hotel Conversion into Sacramento Permanent Supportive Housing

Low-income apartments, supportive services for families, former foster youth formerly homeless

Vista Nueva is a Permanent Supportive Housing community for formerly homeless families and their children as well as transitional age youth (TAY). Jamboree converted a former Staybridge Suites near downtown Sacramento, CA, into affordable apartments to provide stable housing and onsite supportive services for residents.

Amenities for families, former foster youth that connect neighbors

When Jamboree acquired the fully operational hotel, it had a community pool and centralized laundry. Now as a supportive housing community, Vista Nueva features 25,000 square feet of common space with a community room and kitchen, lounge area, and after-school program rooms for children and youth. A playground, pet area, added landscaping, and security 24/7 create a safe sense of home for families and former foster youth ages 18 to 25 who live on very low, fixed incomes. Each fully furnished apartment offers a small kitchen and a full, private bath.

Set in a suburb of downtown Sacramento, Vista Nueva is part of the North Natomas neighborhood near where Interstate 80 and Truxel Road intersect. Residents are a short walking distance to public transportation and nearby are local shops and retail stores, a medical clinic, daycare center, and parks. The property is right next to a bike path.

Supportive, resident services for families, children, transitional age youth (TAY)

A variety of onsite supportive and resident services plus after-school programs coordinated with the Natomas Unified School District are provided to residents free of charge. Ongoing health and wellness programs and community building activities focus on helping residents achieve and maintain both housing and financial stability as well as improved health.

Along with a permanent home, residents have onsite access to trained professionals who can provide services and support – including case management, life skills education, and opportunities for social connections and meaningful activities – that keep them active, stable, and thriving in their local neighborhood.

Jamboree works closely with the City of Sacramento and other dedicated local partners to ensure that Vista Nueva is well-maintained, affordable, and continues to provide essential services to residents for the long term.
