Jamboree Receives $25,000 Grant for Community Impact

We’re pleased to be selected as the recipient of a $25,000 community development grant from Wells Fargo to define and measure what we call “Community Impact Indicators.”

As Jamboree’s evolving mission expands to provide resident programming and services with measureable community impact, this grant provides funding that allows us to put needed systems and expertise in place. The grant is funding the services of a consultant to design a framework for what outcomes to measure and how to measure them, then define how they impact families, seniors, and those with special needs that can be an ongoing process in all our communities for the future. Additionally, we are eager to work with the University of California Irvine (UCI) Education Department to assist us with defining and measuring outcomes for our after-school programs.

By defining and measuring impact and outcomes, we can measure the return on our donors’ investments by documenting changes over time in long-term outcomes related to the housing security, education, economic stability, and health for our residents as defined in Jamboree’s Strategic Plan. For example, we can learn whether a child feels more confident because they are part of our program, whether someone with special needs is more connected and able to volunteer in the community, or if a senior is receiving medical care that they need.

As we calculate the return on our social investment, we can quantify how we transform lives and strengthen communities, we can replicate that work to increase effectiveness going forward, making it increasingly relevant to the needs of future communities where Jamboree develops quality affordable housing.

Thanks to Wells Fargo for their ongoing commitment to our local communities. It makes a difference!
