June 22, 2015 - Certified Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Homes Platinum, Courier Place is an award-winning multigenerational community with an advanced green footprint that exceeds California’s CalGreen Title 24 energy-efficiency standards by more than 35%.

Among its many green components, Courier Place’s sustainable design includes optimum water efficiency with low-flow plumbing fixtures and tankless water heaters.

According to our newest data, Courier Place residents use 26% less water than a comparable multifamily property, in terms of the number and size of units, for which we have utility information.

The difference is about the same amount that state regulators have asked cities and water districts to reduce water consumption – all without any special restrictions on usage.

Adding to Courier Place’s low-water profile is the site’s use of less than half the water of traditional landscape – 66% of plants are drought tolerant – coupled with a highly efficient drip irrigation system.

Watering lawns and plants is one of the largest water consumptions statewide. The property also features an underground storm water retention percolation system that significantly reduces water runoff.
