Low-income housing in Buena Park planned community
Clark Commons is an affordable housing apartment community that’s part of a 10-acre master development created with City Ventures and the City of Buena Park in Orange County. The Parker Collection, market-rate townhomes by City Ventures, and Clark Commons by Jamboree were the first two housing communities to be built on the 10-acre site that was originally purchased by the City for its revitalization initiative before the demise of the city’s Redevelopment Agency in early 2012.
The City’s renewal program transformed a previously blighted site that included a non-conforming retail center, the City’s public works maintenance yard, an auto repair facility and a commercial/industrial development into a residential development that seamlessly integrates into the community.
Each home is equipped with ENERGY STAR kitchen appliances, water-saving plumbing and lighting fixtures that lower energy consumption, providing a cost-saving benefit that promotes the health of residents.
Common area amenities, including Santa Maria BBQ and Majestic Coffee and Tea, are conveniently located throughout the property to allow neighbors access to these features. A network of local community service partners form a Community Collaborative, Jamboree's innovative impact strategy that brings residents and partners together to address the unique needs of residents and the entire neighborhood. Activities such as homework assistance and tutoring for young people, plus health and wellness programs, are provided.
