ICLT joint venture is affordable apartments in Stonegate Village

Award-winning Doria is the first rental property to be developed and completed by Jamboree in joint venture with the Irvine Community Land Trust, the only land trust established by a cooperative municipality in Southern California. Together, the two Doria phases include affordable apartment homes for workforce families plus 20 apartment homes for residents with special needs, with funding provided by the Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) administered by the County of Orange. Doria is located within Irvine’s upscale master-planned Stonegate Village community.

Developed by the Irvine Company and designed for exercise and a healthy lifestyle, Stonegate Village encompasses seven neighborhood parks connected by lushly landscaped pedestrian paths. Parks feature softball/youth baseball fields with a soccer overlay, basketball courts, tennis and sand volleyball courts, tot lots, shade structures, barbecues and picnic tables. Some parks also include junior Olympic-sized pools with spas, wading pools, and lap pools.

Doria moves forward the City of Irvine's long-term commitment to provide a full spectrum of housing. A mix of affordability in the city's housing inventory is critical to the long-term success of the Irvine economy and community. In 2011, Jamboree set a goal moving forward to designate at least 10% of the homes at each of its new construction properties to people with special needs. Doria is the company’s first such integrated property. This innovative partnership between Jamboree and the City of Irvine has helped to make Irvine the city in Orange County with the highest percentage of affordable housing per capita, and will ensure the affordability and high quality of Doria for decades to come.
