In partnership with the city and St. Joseph Health System, in 1997 Jamboree acquired and renovated 10 existing units in serious disrepair. The buildings had more than 200 code violations and required extensive refurbishing. Now, an onsite police substation provides community policing and safety, and children at the community also receive computer and reading skills classes through Jamboree's Housing with HEART.

All rents are affordable to households at or below 50% of the median area income. The renovation of these buildings, together with others on the street, has resulted in an overall revitalization of the neighborhood.
