1993 - 1st Time Buyers Program

$1 million federal grant awarded to Jamboree to develop first-time home buyers’ program in City of Irvine. Jamboree developed program guidelines and resale controls, closed escrow on 20 homes.

Delivered Metropolitan Condominiums, a four-unit attached for-sale complex in the City of Irvine, reserved for first-time home buyers.
1995 - Low Income Programs

Initiated Irvine’s first Mortgage Credit Certificate Program, assisting 63 low-income home buyers with federal tax credits to offset housing costs. Completed construction on first multifamily affordable community, Woodpark Apartments in Aliso Viejo, a 128-unit project financed through low-income housing tax credits.
1996 - New Senior Community

Co-developed 116-unit Inn at Woodbridge, a new senior community.
1997 - 3 Community Development

Co-developed 35-unit senior community, Camden Place, in La Palma; co-developed Manzanita Walk, a 48-unit for-sale condominium project in Anaheim.

Acquired and renovated 42-unit Briar Crest and Rose Crest communities in Garden Grove in cooperation with the city and St. Joseph Health System.
1998 - Senior Mobile Home park

1999 - Northern California

Entered into partnership to acquire and renovate three family apartment communities totaling 640 units: Thornbridge Apartments in San Jose (286 units), Watercrest Apartments in Sacramento (206 units), and Las Colinas Apartments in Riverside (148 units). The first two represent Jamboree’s initial expansion into Northern California.
2000 - Risky Partnership

Entered into partnership to acquire two communities at risk of losing their existing affordability restrictions: Rowland Heights Apartments in Rowland Heights (144 units), Plum Tree Apartments in Gilroy (70 units, senior).

Completed Heritage Villas, a 143-unit low-income senior apartment community in Mission Viejo.

Jamboree founder Lila Lieberthal retires; Laura Archuleta, former housing director for the City of Palmdale, named new President of Jamboree.

Launched “Housing With HEART (Helping to Educate, Activate and Respond Together)” initiative providing innovative on-site educational and social programs and services tailored to residents’ needs.

Acquired and renovated 96-unit Tennyson Gardens, a low-income family community in Hayward.
2002 - Three Renovations

Acquired and renovated three family apartment communities: 32-unit La Puente Park Apartments in La Puente; 52-unit Hillcrest Apartments in Fontana; 127-unit Cornerstone Apartments in Santa Ana.
2003 - Award Winner

The 2003 Southern California Assn. of Nonprofit Housing (SCANPH) Advocate of the Year award is presented posthumously to Jamboree founder Lila Lieberthal, who died earlier in the year.

Jamboree is presented the 2003 Home Builder Leadership Award from the Fair Housing Council of Orange County.

For the third time since 1993, Jamboree designs and administers an innovative first-time home buyer assistance program for the City of Irvine. Using $500,000 in CDBG funding, this latest effort is designed to help households earning 80% or less of county media area income.

Mendocino at Talega, a 186-unit community for low-income families located in the Talega master-planned community in San Clemente, celebrates its grand opening. The project was made possible thanks to Jamboree’s efforts to pass an inclusionary zoning ordinance in the city.

Acquires River Ranch, a 136-space seniors mobile home park in Victorville where residents hadM been threatened with eviction due to expiring affordability requirements.

Jamboree, in partnership with Preservation Partners Development, acquires and rehabilitates Seminole Apartments in Palm Springs (60 units), Lake Merritt Apartments in Oakland (55 units, senior) and Cienega Gardens in Covina (180 units). Other acquisitions inclujde Sunswept Apartments, Garden Grove (16 units) and Wakeham-Grant Apartments, Santa Ana (127 units).
2004 - Mendocino Wins Award

Mendocino at Talega is one of six recipients nationwide of the prestigious Maxwell Award of Excellence, a $50,000 prize presented by the Fannie Mae Foundation for outstanding affordable housing programs. Laura Archuleta represents Jamboree at award ceremony in Washington, DC.

Jamboree breaks ground on its first new apartment community located in its hometown of Irvine, Montecito Vista, a 162-unit development for low-income families. Construction is completed on Glenneyre Apartments, a 27-unit multifamily project in Laguna Beach.

Jamboree acquires and rehabilitates several existing multifamily and senior communities, including Corona Park in Corona (180 units); Sky Parkway and Hastings Park in Sacramento (58 and 242 units, respectively); Citrus Grove in Fontana (50 untis); and Woodglen Vistra in Santee (188 units).

Housing With HEART social services division becomes a separate 501(c)(3) corporation.
2005 - Mendocino Wins Award

Montecito Vista Apartment Homes in Irvine, California, won the 2005 Innovation in Workforce Housing award. The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) launched the awards in 2004 to recognize the efforts of the home building industry to address the growing need for workforce housing nationwide.
